Beckley, WV to home!

Cleveland was able to get an appointment in C’ville to have his tooth pulled. So, we got up early and were on the road by 5:30, taking I-64 all the way to C’ville then home. We unloaded, said hi to the dogs, then got in the truck and went back to C’ville. He needed a driver and since I can’t drive the motorcycle, it meant going all the way home to switch vehicles. Right now, we in the waiting room. He has had the consult, just needs a pair of pliers!!

It was still dark when we left the hotel.

We’ve been on the road heading east since my last post. Monday was spent in Topeka, Kansas, Tuesday spent just west of St. Louis, Missouri and from there today we made it all the way to Beckley, WV in a day. Cleveland has an abscessed tooth that needs attention so we’re hi-tailing it home. He has an appointment tomorrow to have it pulled.

P.S. no photos since Colorado!

We spent today doing a self-guided tour and a guided tour through one of the many cliff dwellings, Longhouse, We had a great tour guide who as able to give us lots of insights into how and why early Puebloans settled here, in this hot arid country and became farmers.

Ely, NV to Torrey, UT (doorway to Capitol Reef National Park)

We had all kinds of weather today- Ely was 45 this morning, then it climbed to 98 degrees, dropped to the 60’s as we drove east through and around rain and a bit of hail, then back to the 70’s and stayed there with incredibly blustery winds.

We got to Torrey just outside of Capitol Reef NP and planned to drop of our gear and go into the park for a hike. But, the rain we skirted all afternoon continued to look very close and threatening so we stayed in town instead. We’ll see the park tomorrow instead.
