Yankton, SD to Ogallala, NE

We left this morning and again got to test our new raingear- it is flawless!! We had several hours of rain and didn't feel a drop. We stopped at Randall Dam in South Dakota as we made our way west and checked our phones for messages. Cleveland had a call from his sister Carolyn that his dad had fallen earlier this morning and then passed away. We are now deciding our next move. Most likely we'll head to Denver (hence our southward trip today) and fly home. We won't be there in time to help with preparations, but in time for his funeral.

Cleveland and I feel so blessed that we took both sets of grandkids for visits recently and we ourselves made several trips over the past year to help around the house. We enjoyed some good stories of WWII and the company of him and Jean.

Since we have to go back to Denver to get the motorcycle, we plan to return and continue our trip plans for the Colorado area.

Tonight we returned to the same place we went two years ago, but then, we were unable to get tickets to see the live show. Tonight we got the last two seats in the theatre. It was a fun show that began with a shoot out in the parking lot and then continued with a musical show in the saloon. We happened to sit at the bar with a man who introduced himself as a local veterinarian and one of the founders of the saloon and live show.
