Clarenville to St. John's, NL

Today we made the short trip from Clarenville to St. John's, which is a fairly big city as far as NL goes. We got here early so toured around the city before checking in to our hotel, The Battery, which sits far atop a hill overlooking the city and working harbor. The city is full of very colorful homes built like townhouses at home. Some look to be quite old. Bars are plentiful in the downtown area-mostly Irish and English style pubs.

Signal Hill overlooks St. John's- it houses Cabot Tower named for explorer John Cabot
Cabots Tower was built in the late 1800's to protect the harbor

Funny street crossing sign!
Apparently, my netbook says that is all for now- I've been trying to load three more pictures for 10 minutes and it is just not happening- maybe later I will try again.
