Glendive, MT to Fergus Falls, Minnesota: T. Roosevelt NP (buffalo, horses, prairie dogs)

What a beautiful trip through North Dakota- it was nothing like I thought it would be. It was green, hilly and cool! What's not to like?? We found the Theodore Roosevelt National Park right off of  I-94 where we saw herds of buffalo, wild horses and prairie dogs. It also had badland like S. Dakota but they were green- just beautiful. The rest of the trip was on a very straight road (I-94- look at it on a map) but it had rolling hills with small ponds, wetlands, grasslands, and farms. We stopped about an hour into Minnesota after passing through Fargo, ND! remember the movie??

Cleve, of course, has to stick his head in a prairie dog hole- they were not happy.

2nd entrance- red rocks overlook

 N. Dakota badlands- really pretty!

It is hard to get the camera to see the depths here- but there are so many layers of these eroded mounds of sandstone. This sight is right off the interstate- even truckers stop to see the views.

Tomorrow, eastward bound and Chicago by mid-day Tuesday to see the Jones'!
