Lincoln City, OR to Salem, OR

We left one of the best motels we've ever been to: cozy, well decorated, very nice mattress....Captain Cook Inn in Lincoln City, OR on the 101. If you ever come through here, it is a great stop! We headed inland towards Salem where the BMW rally begins tomorrow. It was a beautiful ride once it warmed up. We took some back roads to get there and came across a monastery that sold chocolates, a covered bridge, horses close up and some beautiful fields. It pays to go the road less traveled!!

This is the only Monastery of the Brigittine Order in the world- only 7 monks live here. They make chocolates, really delicious fudges and truffles. There is a great woman at the sample shop that explains and has samples of the various products. We left with two boxes and an order form to order more once we get home.

Great coffee stop in Amity, OR

We made it to our hotel in Salem/Keiser, OR
