Another travel day with more views of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan, across the Mackinac Bridge (5th longest suspension in the world) and landed in Mackinaw City for the night.  It is tourist heaven, ice cream, fudge and popcorn shops on every block, located on Lake Michigan- very nice!

Two more days- should be home by Wednesday.

Dickinson, ND to Superior, WI

Today was a long travel day, 6 a.m. To 5 p.m. It warmed up to the low 90's as we finished ND, took on all of Minnesota and entered Wisconsin. WE took I-94, Rt. 10, Rt, 34 and Rt. 2. Not much sight seeing along the way, save for a few such as the big cow, Salem Sue.

We traveled the width of MN through Duluth-
Across both the Mississippi and St. Louis rivers-

To Barkers Island for the night- we are just barely in Wisconson looking at a beautiful marina.

How do you say relax? Ahhhhhhhh............a good beer and watching the boats come in. The only problem was that most of the customers the restaurant were fresh off the boat and totally tanked!! One stranger bought us a beer and another we couldn't understand because of his slurring- Cleve pretended to understand and I pretended I could not hear him. It was a bit uncomfortable!!

Today is Killian's birthday, he is two. We called to sing to him but he was already in bed, so left him a birthday message!

Billings, MT to Dickinson, ND and T. Roosevelt NP

After saying our goodbyes to Roger and Diane, we headed east on I-94. We stopped at T. Roosevelt NP (again) to get our buffalo fix! They are fascinating animals. We also saw lots of prairie dogs as well as wild horses and pretty landscapes. The heat climbed steadily all day into the mid-90's, so we stopped at. Dickinson for the night, and plan to get an early start tomorrow morning.

Billings, MT and Little Big Horn National Monument

Yesterday we spent most of the day at the rally. For dinner we went downtown where there was a Thursday night at 5 event- much like the Friday nights in C'ville. They added beach balls to the mix!

Today before the heat climbed we headed to see Little Big Horn NM formerly known as Custer's Last Stand. From there we went back to the rally in Billings. We saw a great stunt rider, Chris "teach" McNeil, who put on a super show!!

Music event in downtown Billings-

Designated parking for motorcycles-

Today, going to Little Big Horn-

Custer's remains were relocated to West Point where he went to school. All others were rebuffed in a mass grave under this monument.

Those killed has since been relocated, but the stones showed where they fell and were originally buried.

Chris McNeil in action!

Tomorrow, we say goodbye to Roger and Diane and head east. We should be home mid-week.

Yellowstone NP to Billings, MT via Beartooth Pass

On the road again, this time to Billings, MT where the BMW rally is behing held. We headed back into YNP past Old Faithful, around Yellowstone Lake, through Canyon Village and out of the park via the NE  entrance/exit. We saw very little wildlife until today, just an occasional elk cow. But today, we saw buffalo by the herd!  Several were very close! On Beartooth Pass we saw a group of mountain goats, a marmot and tons of chipmunks.

Into the meadows where we begin to spot herds is buffalo.

This big fellow crossed the road In front of us and then just stood on the side of the road.

Several clusters were very close to the road.

Goodbye YNP-

Heading through a couple of small towns, then on to Beartooth Pass.

It got a bit chilly on top, but no rain.

Views are amazing up here.

These goats almost blend in with the rocks- I almost missed them!

How many can you see in this photo?

Tomorrow we will head to the rally.
