Santa Fe, NM to Albuquerque, NM

The motorcycle has had some idle issues so we headed to Albuquerque where there is a dealer that will be open tomorrow. We came by way of Madrid again to have breakfast at Maggie's diner only to find out that it is a store, not a diner! We did't notice the sign yesterday!!

We are staying at the beautiful Hotel Albuquerque in the old downtown area. We walked around in the  historic district, had lunch, then sat by the pool for a couple of hours- it was a great afternoon. This evening we walked back there, had dinner and walked through the museum area and then a nearby park.

I don't know how we missed this sign when we walked by yesterday, but we did.

Ooh, la, la- check out our accommodations for the night - and it was good deal!

Below is the quaint shopping district in the historic downtown area- full of little shops and cafe's.

This beautiful church has been in continuous use since 1706 - still in use today, wow!
We spent a couple of hours in the shade by the pool- wonderful! I hardly ever sit still that long!

Check out the rainbow as afternoon storms rolled through.
These were in a sculpture garden near the historic area.

I loved this sculpture depicting NM history- it was even more dramatic with the sun and clouds as a backdrop!
