Clarkston, WA to Dillon, Montana

Today we headed east along with Diane and Roger. Traveling on Rt.s 12, 93, 43 and 278 we are staying in Dillon, MT. It was a great travel day- 400 miles, sunny and mostly 70's to 80's. We couln't have ordered a better day if we tried!!

The first 100 miles were just like this- following a river on our right.

Lots of twists and turns-

Little bits of snow still on the Bitterroot Range-

We stopped here for another history lesson along the Nez Perce Indian Trail. They fought the army on numerous occasions as they tried to flee to Canada- only a few made it that far. Many were killed and others were captured and taken to a reservation, much smaller than what was agreed upon in a previous treaty.

Battle field sites-

More views along the way near Jackson, Wisdom and Dillon, MT

Tomorrow we head to Yellowstone NP!
