Day # 2 in Clarkston, WA

Today was a blast- we took a jet boat excursion on the Snake River, 60 miles one way into Hells Canyon Recreation Area. The scenery was beautiful and lots of wildlife: a coyote, a bald eagle, a herd of mountain goats, lots of herons and geese....etc. Later in the day we picked up pizza and dined poolside at the Baker's daughter's house.

There are numerous beach areas where people could stop and play.

We hit a bit of white water, just enough for a thrill!
Basalt columns like these are common through the canyon.
A picnic lunch was provided.

Diane and Cleve picking grapes-
Waterfall stop-

We were able to get out and take a swim or just wade in the river.
Thsi particular mountainside had a fairly recent fire.
We passed a herd of mountain goats.

Back to the marina-
