Memphis, TN to Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas

Back on I-40 we headed to Hot Springs NP in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is a very old town so in keeping with the "old" theme, we are staying at the Arlington Hotel built in the 1920's. There is a beautiful old pool with two tiers connected by a waterfall- very scenic. Afer a swim and a shower we took off on foot to explore Hot Springs NP. It is very different from other NP's becase it is not a gated park. The hot springs are all in various bath houses on bathouse row that are independently operated. We did not try one- it was already a hot day and the bath's ranged in temperature from the 90's to low 100's- we were more interested in staying cool! Also, did you know this was Bill Clinton,s boyhood home? Check out the poster of him in hid HS band uniform!!
